Use the DisplayPort 1.2 extension cable where more cable is required or connections are to be relocated.
The cable works bidirectional, you can connect the connector to the graphics card (source) or the monitor (sink).
A DisplayPort cable transmits digital video and audio signals. This cable supports a maximum bandwidth of 21.6 Gbit / s and a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz.
Please note that passive adapters and extensions weaken a signal. Longer cables therefore do not always achieve the full bandwidth.
